Cosmetic Contact Lenses Just For Fun

Backgrounds on Cosmetic Contact Lenses

Many of us have to wear contact lenses because we don't like eyeglasses for one or more reasons. A very typical reason is that they just don't fit your looks, and another is that the wearer always feels discomfort. Glasses weigh a small amount, but even so some people have such a sensitive nose and ears that they can't be comfortably suspended, hence they choose to wear contacts. Some people don't like the color of their eyes - it might be for some reason distorted, like in some deseases, or it just can be plain wrong, and thus they choose to wear consmetic contact lenses to hide their natural iris color.

There are some liver diseases that can cause the the sclera to turn yellow, because one of the gull ingredients accumulates in our bodies. The situation is reversible, but if you don't want to look like you have a liver disease, then you could wear white sclera covering contacts during your treatment.

The middle part in your eyes that has the color is called the iris. It is formed of special pigment cells that cause your eyes to reflect the light which wavelength corresponds to a specific colored light. If your iris absorbs everything else except the green wavelength your eyes will have a green shade. The same thing applies for all the colors that people have in their eyes. In some cases the person is not happy with the color of their eyes, or some for of disease changes it or makes it look unnatural, and they want to wear coloured cosmetic contact lenses to hide their natural eye color.

There are only three genes that control ones iris color so it is quite simple to understand that there are basically three colors that one can have - green, blue and brown. But also there are mixtures of these genes that give other not so clear colors as gray and hazel and a lot of colors from between. Normally with genes there are usually dominant and recessive genes - if someone would have a brown gene and a blue gene they would have the color that comes from the dominant gene. Years ago scientist believed that brown was dominant but because mixtures like grey and hazel also occur with people who have the brown gene, it has lead us to the conclusion that when it comes to the development of ones iris color, we simply don't really know quite yet. One great example of this is the heterochromia, which is a condition where the person has two different colored eyes. As well the iris is not always evenly the same color, and one could have a green iris which is brown from the middle.

The pigment in the iris is produced by melanocytes and during age the amount of melanocytes can reduce, causing the iris to lose its color, this is natural and there is no need to worry if you start losing the bright color in your eyes - this is also one of the biggest reason why people search cosmetic contact lenses online.

With colored contacts the purpose is to mimic the iris as well as possible. Some of them are a simple tinted lens which allow your normal iris-pattern to show through it, and some of them are a more complex creation where the lens tries to mimic a stunning looking iris covering your natural iris completely. This is the best type of contact lens for people who have some abnormalities in their iris.
